Does anyone have any experience with the Hogue Monogrip for the Ruger GP100? Does it fit well?

I just got done trying a set of Pachmayr Grippers on a friends GP100 and was very disappointed with the way the front of the grip was 'sprung' open. Are the Hogue grips like this?

I had a Monogrip on my Super Redhawk and was pleased with the grip.

The monogrip fits very well and works great.  I had a set of Pachmayr decelerators on my SRH .480 and was less than pleased.  I swaped them for a monogrip and really like it.  I also have one on my GP100 and it is outstanding.  Shooting .38's through it is like shooting a .22 and are a real pleasure.  .357 loads are a walk in the park as well.

edited to add............No the monogrip doesn't fit like the Pachmayr's.  It slides over the grip frame like a glove and without that "split" up under the trigger guard.

Thanks for the replys.

It sounds like Hogue may be the way to go.

I actually prefer the factory grips to Hogues, but to each his own.

They have strong finger grooves.  I like the feel and fit but prefer grips that aren't so, um, groovy.

I happen to agree with Ameshawki, Ruger factory grips are pretty good.  I never bothered to change out GP-100 grips.

With that said, I do like Hogue grips.  I've used them on other pistols and they are very comfortable and soften recoil well.

I shot my friend's GP100, and the factory rubber grips feel pretty good to me.

I have not found the perfect rubber grip yet . I have Hogue fingergroove grips on most my S&W revolvers that I shoot but I am happy enough with the factory grips on my GP 100.
