I've always wanted a big steel revolver. I've also always wanted a 1911 in 38 Super. It would seem that at low pressures, I can use the same, or at least some of the same bullets. That means I can get both. That's the logic anyway.

That said, I'm thinking either a 627 or 686 with some Nill grips and some kind of fiber optic sights. Anyone have pics, or can recommend one over the other?

686's are very popular guns that shoot very well.  I have a 4 inch and 2.5 inch barrel versions.

I do not think a 38 super will work in a 357 magnum

I enjoy both of my 627's top is a 627-0 and bottom is 627pc "blood work"

They made a factory 627 in 38 super. They are pricy though. I am actually having a second 627 cylinder that is going to be cut for 9mm for my 627pc.
