I have a three-screw single-six marked .22LR.  The folks at Ruger tell me that I cannot just buy a .22 magnum cylinder and have it fitted to my revolver.  Is this true, or is it just a liabliity-driven position from Ruger?

There are five .22mag cylinders for sale on ePay today, and I'd like to try one if I can.  However, if the clearance in the frame isn't sufficient, then I'd rather not waste my time and money trying.  Thanks.
