Even if the slide fit, the mag release system is totally different, the ejector would most likely be in the wrong position too.
The P-89 mag release pushes forward to release, the P-90 pushes inward. I tried putting a P-85 slide on a P-89..no go, even with the same caliber. |

How about putting a P89 slide on a P85 ? Will that work ?

I tried it...quick answer, no. Longer answer, I had both and decided to try it. They made several changes to the "innards" and was one big hang up, one slide not fitting the other frame. There was even a slight change in between...the P-85MKII, which came out after the firing pin recall and just before the P-89. |
