Will I have any issues if I mount a Dawson rail on my custom series 1? I've read that some 1911's have problems becuase the dust cover has not designed to handle the added stress of a light mount and tactical light. Thanks for any help.

The USMC FR guys have put multiple 5 digit round counts through guns equiped with them.

You wont have any problems.

I wonder how the Dawson would hold up on a alum. frame like the Tactical or the CDP?

LOL.

Dont know.  Dont own any aluminum framed 1911s.  I myself have concerns about drilling and taping aluminum.  But hell, what do I know?
