I'll try not to be confusing.

I decided on what 1911 I wanted months ago. Problem is during those months of saving my pennies, I've heard a few more of the [chicken little]Oh my god I've got series II problems with my Kimber![/chicken little]

Question is....

Can a Series II Kimber be retrofitted so it is a actually a series I model?

Is it just a matter of changing part's that are available and do fit the gun?

Your answers are greatly appreciated.

Actualy removal of the slide portion of the firing pin block assembly should aleviate the worry. I've not done it on a Kimber but have done it on several series 80 Colts.
