I am a new owner of a Kimber SS Gold Match II (the warrior is on order) and had a small Q about Magazines...I have heard alot about the Wilson Mags and started to looking into getting a few extra and saw that there are a lot and I mean a lot of choices...7 round, 8 round, 10 round ????

Which ones do you guys use and which would you suggest? this gun will be my home defense and target gun.

Forgive me for any spelling errors as I SUCK at spelling!!! :)

THANKS!!!

The 8 rd. Wilson 47D if you've got a mag well and the 47DC if you don't.

Huh?  If you've got a mag well?  I know I'm missing something here.  My warrior likes all the Wilson mags that I've tried.

I've had great luck with the Chip McCormick power mags.

The difference between the two is the thickness of the mag base. The 47D has a .350" thick plastic base while the 47DC has a low-profile steel base to make it a bit more concealable. The thicker base will help you to seat the mag better in a pistol with a mag well.

I'm a fan of the Wilson 47DC, but own several 47Ds for variety.

ETA: Just checked my pocket, I have one of each on me, so I guess it doesn't really matter.

mine are all Wilson 7 rounders

I my buy more 8's next time but not in a big rush

they would be nice for IDPA to load to cap with out dropping a round in or ejecting the mag and topping off

i suggest 8rnd 47Ds for general use or for use in most 1911s

h/w, i carry: 47DCs (8rnd, lowpro bp), and 2 10rnd for backups (47Ts)

get the stainless ones, they wear better

I only use Wilson 47D, though I do have a few Wilson 10 rounders for fun

With a mag well, a flat base plate mag ends up recessed - harder to seat.

I just run 47D's across the board, even in my CCW gun
