Technically speaking whats the real diff. b/t the two rounds, sorry guys i know, NOOBAGE!  I imagine the .357sig is more accurate by nature, but perhaps the .40 is generally more lethal round for HD/SHTF.

Eta...the price is $205 which seems fair to me, but i do not know what they go for normally.

I really like the 357SIG round.  I have a P2000 with both 357SIG and 40SW barrels.

One good thing about 40SW is the ammo is cheaper and easier to find compared to 357SIG.

What do you like specifically about the .w .357sig over the .40sw?

It's pretty simple for me.  I'm more accurate shooting 357SIG out of my P2000 compared to shooting 40SW out of the same gun.

For me, the recoil of the 357SIG round feels sharper than the 40SW, however the 357SIG recoil doesnt' seem to have as much torque as the 40SW so my follow up shots are tighter.  I always feel the 40SW round out of the P2000 pulls my followup shoots further away from the initial shot.  I've tested this at the range with 125gr 357SIG and 155gr/165gr/180gr 40SW and the results were pretty consistent with the same P2000.  

Of course, take this for what it's worth.  I think a lot of it comes down to shooting style, proficiency, and skill.  I'm a decent shot, but by no means an expert.

This is a really great reply and very informative......the .357sig packs a DAMN whallop outta this compact....can i manage, yes...but still its a mini cannon that i believe has a bit of a learning curve for a guy like me.

I prefer the heavier 165gr or 180gr .40 S&W over the 125gr .357 Sig Speer Gold Dot HPs.

I would get the 40SW barrel for a few reasons, one being that unless you are reloading the 357Sig, the barrel will pay for itself in a short amount of practice due to the lower cost of 40SW. In a prolonged SHTF scenario 357Sig will be hard to come by and you will have a much better chance at finding 40SW as it is popular amongst both LE and civilian. As for merits of the round in HD/SHTF, everyone will have a different opinion. Some will chime in saying the 357Sig has better barrier penetration while others will tout the weight behind the 40SW as being a better manstopper. I, for one, don't own either caliber. Eventually, though I'd like to own both in a P30 or P2000 platform. I wouldn't have any issues with either caliber and certainly wouldn't feel underarmed with either. I see the main benefit of the 40SW barrel being cost and availability of ammo.

Who the hell wouldnt love this HK forum  Nice replies....i figured w. the ammo price thing, it would be close to a yeh for that alone...however i must be honest, .357sig like i mentioned has been managed to some degree pretty well so far w. accuracy in mind.......but if .40sw through the SK is much more thump i really cannot imagine being too effective w. the current skills i have so i dont want to pick a .40sw only to get a bigger hand cannon than the one i currently have

I have started to grow outta of it the older i get......but i love a gun that thumps you a little, i used to think it was a requirement about 10-12 yrs ago.

At the end of the day i think i will pull the trigger just because of the concept and the believe that my skill set will grow and eventually be able utilize this perhaps much better than i could imagine today and moreover understand the applications I can fully utilize using the .40sw.
