I found a hardly used usp 9, variant 1 I believe. Comes with two mags (10 round cause I am a resident of the socialist republic of new jersey) and the HK hard case. The tag said 700 but he told me he would do it for 650. Does that sound fair or am I getting hosed. This would be my first HK... hmm and 1st polymer for that matter.

OK... its a 95 (KF) with what appear to have less than 200 rounds down the pipe. The gun looks new.

I just paid $740 for an unfired 2008 manufacture USP 9... so that sounds okay. Cough up a little extra and I bet you can find one NIB.

$650 is borderline, IMO. In no way is it considered a "good buy" at that price. OTOH, it's a helluva gun, period.

You need to mention how many of these you see in your neck of the woods? Often? Rarely? Sometimes?

Don't see the usp's too often, seen plenty of p30's and hk45s.  This is the first usp9 I have seen the same shop just sold a compact40, but that's about it.  A friend of mine has a usp45 that I have shot and loved.... that's what I would really like but the 9 might make a nice addition to the family for the time being.  However maybe I would be better off holding out for a usp45.  Any opinions? This might sound like a dumb question, but Does HK still sell the USP models new?

Price is high in my opinion.

I wouldn't pay that much, but I wouldn't laugh at someone who did, either.

Absolutely!

Nothing wrong with chosing the 9mm first over the .45acp models, IMO.

How close is the gun to 100%? Original warranty card, etc?

Price sounds a little high to me.  $550 - 600 sounds more fair for a used USP 9 without nightsights.

Just paid $650 for a USP 45 w/ night sights.  It's used but it would pass for NIB, no question.  If this thing had been shot, it was cleaned so meticulously that the guy who did it needs to be committed for excessive OCD.

I am pretty sure its 100% original. I remember seeing all of the literature in the box when he opened it.  I was impressed that it had everything being that it was a 95.

IMO, sounds like someone REALLY took good care of her or she was a safe queen.  Does NJ have a neutered magazine ban????? If so it would be a difficult decision to get the 9mm now or wait and see if a 45 comes around AND if its in just as good condition or WORSE than the one you're looking at now.

Boy am I glad I'm NOT you!!!! LOL  j/k.

For it being NJ $650 seems ok.

New Jersey is the only state to my knowledge that has a fifteen round magazine capacity law.  So most of the time if the gun holds more than 15 we get stuck with ten round mags.

OIC now, so if the gun originally has a 16 round magazine you guys get stuck with a 10 rounder!?!?!?!?!? Boy that sucks. In that case get the USP 9.

It is done... I put a hold on it.  She will be mine, soon.
