i'd like to pick up something, preferably an all weather/conditions shoulder holster, that could handle either a .40 full size or compact. i'm looking for something to use in the woods under a parka or jacket and in the car for long drives...also with a jacket. it is not something that will see a ton of use.

the uncle mike's sidekick line seemed reasonable as it is synthetic and not overly expensive, but the fit of the guns are somewhat sketchy. there were noticable differences even among holsters supposedly the same size. a 16 was the best i could find that would handle both.

any thoughts?

i'm abotu 6'2 with a slim build.

thanks.

If you're absolutely sure about a shoulder holster:

Take a look at www.survivalsheath.com/products/shoulder.htm. They don't have any HK products listed yet, but I imagine they build them for weapons they get the most requests for. The straps are nylon and the holster and mag pouch are Kydex.

Then again, take a look at this thing from Safariland:

It's a skeletonized injection molded polymer, just like the frame of the USP. It's available from: www.holsters.com/model.php3?model=1090
