Everything I have tried run fine thru my USPf. .40 I have used Gold dots, golden sabres, black talons,hydrashocks and lots of diffrent types of FMJ. i don't think it should matter much what ya got, but be sure to run atleast a box or 2 thru it to ensure it does work. After all, its your life on the line.

I love mine, I've carried it on and off duty for four years now and attended two pistol classes that involved ~1000 rds in two days each. All it has to show for it is some holster wear on the slide, and the mag floorplates have some character from reload drills over concrete.

local sheriffs use USP40. If it's not reliable, they wouldn't be using it. |

Ive put exactly 1752 rounds through mine without having cleaned it so yeah i guess they aint to bad.
Most of the ammo shot has been Remington UMC JHP 180gr |

Over a thousand rounds now without a problem. Not a single jam since I've owned it.

I've had some jams right below the feed ramp. But that's from limp-wristing coupled with weaker mag springs.

I do not have 40 cal USP, but I have two 45ACP USP's! The fullsize has 25K+ through it! The only malf's have been induced by dummy rounds! The compact is just as reliable! Accurate is an understatement!

Nah, pretty much sums it up. 4 HK's. Not one malf. And all of them but one get shot ALOT. |

Reliability will be fine but may I ask why .40? Your not going to be stopping threats any more efficiently than with a 9mm. It's also expensive to shoot and in a SHTF situation ammo isn't going to be as plentiful as 9mm. Shot placement is the most important factor.

#1 Already started buying ammo. #2 Iv'e always liked the .40 for heavier loads. #3 If I wanted a 9mm i'd get a higher capacity Glock. #4 ? #5 13 round mags is an unlucky number for the bad guys!!! |

You can pretty much feed a USP anything. I love my USP 40f. I can't effectively conceal it though, it's too big.

Big plus 1 for the USP. I carry the .45 compact everyday, and took the fullsize .40 to my classes, performs great. Never a problem.

Nice gun but I was never crazy about the DA trigger pull.
I sold mine and got a SIG 229 instead. |

own sigs and hks, pleased with both.
my usp .40 ss has probably over 3500 rounds through it, many different ammos. 1 failure, from an underloaded cartridge that didn't have enough oomph to cycle the slide. |

I love my USP, love the fact that I have it set up for my left handed self and love the fact that I never have to worry about it costing me my life.

Yeah, I didn't think i'd be hearing of many problems with them but it's better to be safe then sorry.
Not to change the subject even though I can because it's my post. What about the P2000 SK is it any good? |

try it with a holster that rides high on your hip, should conceal it plenty enough, i have a Fobus Roto holster for my USP 40 and it works good with windbreakers and sweatshirts

Get a v1 and run cocked and locked like a 1911. Or just don't worry about it. Only the first shots gonna suffer the DA pull. |
