I have small hands, and I'm used to 1911's with slim grips. They fit me right. I really wanted to love the HK45... too big. Couldn't fit my hands around it properly, couldn't release magazines.

I saw some shops (Robar, others?) do polymer work on the guns. Just how small can they make it? I don't like those fingergrooves... they're way too spaced apart for my fingers.

If the HK45 is too big for you, do yourself a favor and check out the HK45c. It is a bit smaller and has no finger grooves but shoots just as good as the HK45.

Use your trigger finger to drop the mags.

The switch was very easy for me.
