The 10 rounders do not have the lip on the bottom of the mag body to hold on the baseplate that the 12 round and 8 (.45 USPC) mags do. If you cannot hold them in with the clip in those two side holes, you cannot hold them in. And with anything going into the mag to attach to the side holes, you cannot put more ammo in. While anything can be done if you have enough time, money and ambition, it is far easier to just buy the 12 round mags. Afterall, it is not like the full cap mags (including white and .45) have not been readily available for years. After Monday, they will still be there and likely at 2/3 the price.
To clarify, the 12 round baseplate slides onto a L shaped lip on the bottom sides of the magazine like Para Ordnance and Beretta. There is no lip on the 10 round mags, so no way to attach the 12 round baseplate. I guess you could cut the mags body and bend out the sides to make a lip, but then I would bet they would be too short to work in the frame.
