look like this?

Manufactured in 1894, this Colt Model 1892 DA 41 Revolver is similar in appearance to the 1889 Navy.
A main difference is that this "New Army and Navy"-civilian model has an improved lockwork function. It has double bolt stop notches, a double cylinder locking bolt, and shorter flutes on the cylinder which swings out.

The Model 1892 holds 6 rounds.

Colt made 291,00 of these revolvers between 1892 and 1907. According to The Standard Catalog of Firearms, “Antiques before 1898 are more desirable from an investment standpoint.”

Your gun was made in 1904.  They were pretty popular revolvers and were offered in varying barrel lengths of 2"-6", and in .38, .41, and .32-20, along with a variety of grips and other options.

The .41 (.41 Long Colt) is actually not a bad round.  It first appeared in the Colt 1877 Lighting DA revovler, and continued into the 1930's.  It used a 200gr bullet at something like 730 fps.  About the same power as a .38 special, overall.  Obviously it's not the same cartridge as the .41 magnum.

Your gun is probably technically a model 1903.  Does your cylinder turn counter-clockwise?  Colt made the same basic gun under several different sequential model numbers.  They changed model numbers because of small improvments, but it was the same basic gun throughout the era of the turn of the (20th) century.
