My newest addition is this Colt Anaconda in 45LC.  I've been after this one for a while now, my neighbor bought it new in 1993 and hardly ever shot it.  He wanted an auto for self defense and I ended up giving him $1300 for it.

Is it worth it to buy factory grips for it at $100?

I think most of those guns came with Pachmayr Gripper, which I personally like very well, but those Hogues that are on it are equal or better. Either of them are vastly superior to any wood grip for shooting purposes.

Beautiful gun.  I'm still kicking myself for passing on one in a pawn shop a few years ago for $750.

Got my 44mag Anaconda back in the mid 90s for $400.

Scoped it and shot 2" @. 100 yards.

Great wheel guns.

+1.  This.  I got it from a Pawn Shop on the Eastside for $400 OTD.

I had to go check my safe to double check mine was still there!

The factory grips have a problem with the embedded nut spinning out and then they just wobble loose, and you can't tighten them because of the spinning.

The Hogue is unpleasant with .44 but just fine with .45 Colt.  I kept the .45 because it's more interesting to me.

Nice gun.  I had one last year also in .45 Colt.  Mine had an 8" barrel and I ended up selling it off for a very nice price.

I found a pair of Pachmeyer stocks in a local gun shop.  I prefer them to the Hogues, and they don't have the spinning nut problem of the Colts.

Took the opportunity to picture it with the other .45 Colt revolver in the safe.
