Noticed some post war P-38's are now coming into the country.  Apparently West German military or police reserve stocks.  Looked at one at the last show and appears to be a pretty clean rig. Anybody bought one yet?  Experience with P-38's in general?  Its one of those guns I've always wanted tho I have no particular use for it.

I have been urged caution when buying post-war P-38s due to the alloy frame. Like any used gun, some may have been shot to death with a weak recoil spring or perhaps by its owner who got to shoot a lot.
While the steel framed guns are my preference, I cannot afford the prices I see for the war models. I may have to bite the bullet & go with the alloy frame post-war models.
