I use mine for my XD9 every day. At night it opens up and the flap slides between the mattress and box spring and when I'm lying down all I need to do is lower my right hand and the pistol is right there if I need it in an instant. As a bonus when carrying it in your hand it looks just like a CD wallet....................................

I use mine attached to the belt on my pack while hiking. They don't work well for biking or jogging because they bounce.
