I try to keep enough for two matches and two practice sessions for each caliber, so it depends on my upcoming schedule.

A few hundred rounds of .243 for my deer rifles.

A bunch of 9mm (about 4000 rounds)

More 5.56x45 than 9mm

I reorder when I start getting down to 500rds. Luckily they don't all hit at the same time. But when I do order, I try to get 2k to 3k at a time.

I try to keep 200-300 rounds for all my firearms.  It is usually cheaper to buy in bulk than per box.

I like to keep at least 500 rounds of .45, 9mm, 223, and 7.62x39.

I also keep about 250 rounds of 12 ga.

I only buy Federal AE for my .45's and .223's.
I buy Wolf brand 7.62x39 ammo, and whetever 9mm stuff is on sale.  www.ammoman.com is a great place to buy.
