The best I've been able to find is S&B for $5.89 at Natchez. Can anyone find me a better
deal anywhere? I have a slight preference for S&B. I refuse to buy steel case or aluminum case
ammo. So I'm looking for brass cased, boxer primed, FMJ's.

Be advised, that while S&B is brass cased, their bullets in nearly all their ammo except their 5.56X45mm SS109 use bimetal, copper plated steel jackets.

Blazer Brass, Fiocchi, and Wold Gold (no 9mm in Wolf Gold yet) all use brass cases, boxer primers,  and copper jacketed bullets and are non-corrosive.

Actually, in handgun rounds, the only S&B that I've run across with steel jackets are .38/.357. So far
all of the pistol rounds I've tried have NOT had steel jackets ( 9mm, 9x18mm, 7.62x25mm, .45, .30 carbine )
I've been quite please with S&B for pistol rounds. Revolver rounds have been a bit.... lacking.

I notice nobody has mentioned a better price. I was hoping someone could undercut Natchez by at least
a little. If I don't hear anything soon, I'll go ahead and pick up 1,000 rounds from Natchez.

Thanks.

go with blazer brass from natchez.  iirc it will be $5.19/box at case quantity.  i think it is just as good as s&b which i used to use almost exclusively.

eta: i have never been able to beat natchez's prices.

Cool, I stand corrected.

Okay, Blazer Brass from Natchez works out to $5.79 per box if I buy at least 10 boxes. I haven't seen
a multibox deal on S&B, but it's normally $5.89 per box.

Academy in my area doesn't seem to be offering any spectacular deals on ammo.

Well, if I don't hear anything to the contrary soon, I guess I'll place an order with Natchez.

Cheaper Than Dirt used to beat their prices sometimes, but that hasn't happened in a while.

Thanks.

Yep, Wal Mart.  The 100 WWB used to be 9.xx a box.  Since ammo prices have gone up its now 11.xx a box.  Went up 2 bucks. Still a good deal though.

Same here. WWB 100 rounds packed loose for $11.98 or 50 rounds of WWB in a box for $4.63!  Both sitting right next to each other.

I didn't know they had 50rd boxes.  They are $4.63 now, even after the ammo price increase?

Dick's Sporting Goods had Remington UMC, fmj, 9mm on sale for $5.49 just a couple of weeks ago.  I think it's on sale for $5.99 at the moment.  Any opinions on this ammo?

Not sure about UMC's 9mm, but their .38 Special sucks ass.

It works fine in a Glock, but it won't cycle my M16 so it is a little under powered.

I use it for IDPA matches.  I've used several thousand rounds of it without a problem. In fact I bought another 2000 rounds when it was on sale a couple of weeks ago.

I bought 2 cases/2000 rounds of S&B 115gr. 9mm FMJ at a local gun show a couple weeks back for $5.45 a box. The minimum purchase for that price was 1 case/1000 rounds.

I find the gun shows usually have pretty ammo prices. Plus no shipping charge.

no but you have tax to worry about.  i find that it is generally about a wash between the higher prices in the store vs online but tax is less than shipping.  however the stores that sell cheap stuff--wwb, umc--don't have s&b or blazer or blazer brass.  so i usually end up spending a little more online but i think it is better ammo.
