Anyone remember the Federal Nyclad blue bullet......I met a guy this weekend that swears by it and I remember hearing good things about it but it seems to be scarce.....I think the premise was soft lead covered by a nylon sleeve.....the bullet would retain its weight, flatten quite a bit and dump alot of energy....they also made it for the .38.

of course that would depend on what medium it was in.....

Anyone?

The NYCLAD bullet was designed for indoor police ranges where long term lead exposure was a problem. The base of the bullet is covered in a nylon material that keeps the lead from becoming airborne. The downside is the hot gas partially melts the nylon and you end up cleaning plastic out of your barrel on a regular basis. NYPD required NYCLAD for a while and it wasn't popular because of the cleaning issues.
