using water filled jugs really simulates nothing, and is not very good for terminal ballistics with handgun bullets.  i prefer soaking wet newspaper .  you get a control with bare newspaper, then put denim or whatever you choose as a barrier. Water is too hard for most hollowpoints resulting in complete jacket separations and fragmenting

i found a couple of errors on that link as well
