Ok I thought I'd reload some target rounds with my once used brass.  Only problem is my GI45 puts a D-shaped dent in most of the brass like this:

Sorry for the crappy pics!

Are they throw aways?  Or can I tweak them with something before re-sizing them?

TIA

cant you run them through an expanding bell and then re-size them?

An easy fix is to lower and flare the ejection port.

Cases with a small amount of deformation like the one pictured should resize just fine.  If they don't you can pry the dent out with a screwdriver or pair of pliers and then run them through the die.

Ok I'll try and get the cases close before sizing them.  I don't plan on re-loading too much.  With Wally World FMJ being so cheap.  Well relatively cheap I should say.

Thanks

Try running them through your die before spending time with pliers, etc.  Only use the pliers or pry tool on the cases that don't get cleaned up by the sizing die.  In my experience, most cases will resize fine as long as they aren't seriously bent or dinged.

I get a lot of these depending on what load I'm runing.  They resize just fine.
