I searched for info on this and came up empty.

Looking for a comparison between the 9mm and the 10mm.

Then compared to the 40cal.

Trying to see if the 10mm is enough difference from the 9mm, in punch.

and also the 40 cal. to both in punch.

I am thinking to my Colt 45 cal.

Thanks

With respect, you're probably in the wrong forum.  Try this in general discussion, or general firearms.

In short - highest capacity comes with 9x19.  10mm and .40 S&W chamberings should have the same capacity within a frame size.

10mm tends to be the most powerful commonly available caliber for production pistols, to significantly exceed .45 acp

S&W 1006!

Great shooter...accurate too!

Only problem is the S&W magazine safety, which may be "fixed."
