Anyone have any experience with or been issued this round? Looks to be their PDX1 bonded round but in different packaging.

If I remember correctly, it is government contract overrun. There were lots of threads on this a few years ago. I think the product number Q4369 if you want to Google it or search on here.

I don't have anything to add about that load. But I've been looking at picking up some also and SGammo has it cheaper and is a site sponsor.

Thanks guys. I got some gift cards to Cabelas over the holidays and was looking to pick up some good .40 bonded rounds.

I just ordered some from cabelas and comes out cheaper than it does at sgammo.com. While they are cheaper per box,  they are twice the price on shipping. Just an FYI.

I bought a 500rd case from SGammo.  This is good stuff.  Clean and consistent.  

I'd rather practice with this stuff than Remington UMC or PMC.  

It's good ammo, I have both the 180gr and 165gr version and like them well.  The PDX1 is the same as a Ranger Bonded for those unsure, but the white box version govt. contract version comes with brass casings instead of nickle, which is fine since it's also less expensive.

Bought a ton last time around it was available a few years ago. Bought a ton more recently....

It's good.  My carry ammo in .40.  I use 165 bonded.

I shot a deer with it this year, right on 50 yards, it penetrated front of the chest and stopped just under the skin behind the ribs.  Expanded to .8" diameter and weighed 164 grains when I recovered it.    That there is a keeper  round for me.

If you buy this ammo, check it. I found half a box out of a case that was FMJ not HP's!!

Good ammo. It was dirt cheap a few years ago. I even did some field testing of it on an injured whitetail. Worked like a charm.

I bought a 500 round case of this ammo from sgammo a few years ago and I did some chrono testing on it last september and my average velocity for 10 rounds fired from my M&P 40 was 985.22 feet per second. The high was 1017 fps and the lowest velocity was 947. The ES was 70 fps and my chrono was placed 15 feet from the muzzle. My fullsize M&P 40 has a 4.25" barrel and I use the stock barrel on my pistol.



During that same session, I also chronied some remington umc 180 grain jhp ammo and the average velocity for 15 rounds of that load was 950.5 feet per second. The high was 974 while the low was 919 fps. Lastly, I also ran some of my reloaded 180 grain .40 ammo using 5.9 and 6.1 grains of unique powder over my chronograph, as well. The average velocity for my 5.9 grain unique load was 951.8 feet per second while my 6.1 grain load had an average velocity was 1009.8 feet per second.  Again, the shots were made about 15 feet away from the first (rear) screen of the chronograph.
