Reading about both it says the crit. Defense is made for smaller more concealable handguns. The G20 is quite the size of a handgun, would the critical duty with full power loads be a better choice with possible cycling issues

Or....
It's a glock, it will run like a clock either way

I'm a fan of std-pressure Critical Duty for all my 9's regardless of size, for controllability. Shot placement and sufficient penetration are paramount, all else is secondary. Better a bullet w/less expansion that reaches the vitals than a bullet w/more expansion that doesn't. JMHO...

The critical defense was designed to under-penetrate on purpose.  Stay away.

Basically. Especially at it's price point. Go with the Duty.

Why would you get a Glock 20, and then load it with Critical Duty? Might as well get a Glock 22, since it's damned near the same round.

1200FPS at the Muzzle..... I have 165Gr loads pushing 1150-1175.

Go with Underwood Ammo, or Buffalo Bore and shoot a true 10mm round.

If you're dead set on the Hornady ammo, go with Critical Duty.

Neither. Get some doubletap or at least win 175 silvertip.

Unless you are pulling Critical Duty 40 cal and loading them into 10mm cases the point is moot, since they are only making a Critical Defense round

The difference between defense and duty is the duty has bonded bullets.

That's all I saw listed in 10mm. While a 165gr 40 is nothing to sneeze at it seems like you could squeeze a bit more out

 If I had to use a 10mm for CCW. I would use a 10mm lite or a load around 1000 to 1065FPS  180 to 200gr

There is no need for extra recoil and blast . I rather have more bullets on target

Besides the 40 S&W  with the right loads pass the FBI  barrier testing

I like many others don't see the point of a light 10mm when you could carry the 40 and have a smaller lighter gun to begin with

Fed Lite in a Glock 20 is great to shoot.

Been packing a 1998 P229 in 40cal since 2005

Soon will trans again to a HK P30S 9mm!

Really I see no need for a 10mm or 10mm lite.

Like I was saying If I was Forced with a 10mm I would use 10mm Lite for SD. less recoil more rounds on bad guy.

If I was scared of brown bears I would load up ball or hard cast in  my P229 ! Although 147gr HC in 9mm penetrates pretty deep.

I think the run of 175gr Critical Duty 10mm was done for Cabelas if I remember right, it's not a nation wide thing yet.  Either one would work, but I wouldn't count out the regular Hornady 180gr XTP and 155gr XTP, both are solid loads.  Not full power, but I don't see the advantage in using full power 10mm for self defense anyways, too often the extra velocity hurts penetration and the bullets breaks apart.

I'd rather have something that stayed together even if it was a bit slower.  Some people act like if it's not full powered it's a waste, or borderline ineffective, which is just mental.

This. Pretty much anything would be better than Critical Defense.

best bang is underwood

http://www.underwoodammo.com/10mmauto135grainjacketedhollowpointboxof50.aspx

its out of stock now but cost per round is better than any other 10mm SD round

As a fan of the 10mm, I wouldn't waste my time or money on the hornady stuff. Either get some underwood, buffalo bore or double tap. If all else fails, just load your favorite 180gr jhp over 11 grains of blue dot.
