I took my S&W .22s to the range today. Neither had really been sighted in so it was a perfect day to do so.

I have a Model 63 & 41 with a red dot on it. Both were simply fun to shoot. Pity the 63s aren't made anymore, it was quite popular at the range today.

I just can't get excited about the Smith .22 semis they have now, except for the 41, of course.

I do like their big sized target grip model but the others don't do a thing for me. I've not shot one either.

I have a 22a.  The finish has worn off around the chamber area and breech very quickly.  It seems to start jamming after 40 or so rounds.  It seems to work better with mini-mags -- I haven't tried too many different brands.  Someone suggested polishing the chamber with a lead-removing cloth but I haven't tried that.

How are the S&W 617s?  I keep hoping to find a K22 but haven't so far.

I've not shot a 617 but I'm sure they're top notch. I ended up buying a Model 63 instead.
