You see the question.  Which would you suggest?

I do not plan a dupe post in the HK section, so have at it.

TIA.

Whichever she might shoot better.  The M&P is going to be slightly smaller than the P30. The P30 isnt a huge monster compared to the M&P, but it is larger and more expensive.

Here are pic's and stats on both pistols.  Each have grips that can be changed for size and each can be converted to left hand.  The HK is about $800 and the SW is about $600 with current rebate.

HK P30... it's got curves in the right places... just like its future owner.  Honestly, get her whichever fits better in her hand and is more comfortable for her to shoot.

Budget?  I Imagine the HK is at least $300 more.  M&Ps are raved about here, I'm a Glock 19 man myself.  I'd go M&P limited to the 2 but HK hate factors into that as well.

The M&Ps can be had for under $500 through various dealers.

Try both on for size and ideally a shooting session or two.  Choose whichever one fits best.  No way to know until you try them.

Yup!

My wife went with a Sig 239 9mm.

My girlfriend has small hands, and about the only thing she could get to the trigger on (correctly, without putting her thumb joint on the backstrap) was a Kahr.  Any interest in one of those?  The larger ones (4", "T" model? I think?) give you an extra round now, but a CW9 is certainly no slouch, and at under $500, you're golden!

Oh man I gots to get me some of that!!!

the salmon I mean

Seriously though, if you are thinking about spending the type of $ it takes to own the HK you both would be out of your mind to not consider the Sig offering of a compact. I bet she would find the slim grip of the 225 perfect...I know it is not made anymore but I have seen close to new in box examples for well under what you are thinking about spending on the HK. Sig's 239 and 220 might also be a good fit.

I think the M&P9C would be the best choice of size and ergonomics. It also shoots pretty soft.

My wife is small as well. I'm not sure if you are looking for a CCW ? I haven't  found
"just the right semi yet .So we went to a S&W mod 60.  nothing to fool with no chance
of a jam.just pull the trigger and it go's bang "every time"  . I carry 2 semi's at all times. But the Smith works best for her.

just my 2 cents.

I am considering the M&P compact or a Sig P239 in 9mm for my left handed wife.  I need to get her out to try them on. At the moment we are an all Sig handgun household...

I played/held the M&P 9c a few days ago at the local Sportsmen Warehouse.  Not bad.  Its a little larger then a Glock 26.  The gun had the magazine cutoff, which I do not like.  There is one varient that lets you shot without a mag in the well.  Price was $499.  The HK is much more expensive.
