When all I owned was big bulky handguns, I always wanted a little AirLite .357 for when I was dressed in such a way that I needed to carry a small gun. A friend of mine offered me a good deal on a .38 Airweight 442, and I figured that was close enough to what I wanted. So I bought it.

It's done the job I wanted very well, but I always felt like I got the lesser gun. Even though I was happy with the 442, I never lost the itch to get a scandium .357. The 340PD had always been my favorite. Recently, I found a good deal on one and got it. At the same time, I saw a compensated Model 66 Performance Center gun that, simply, I thought was pretty. Im told this specific configuration was a limited run sold exclusively to Lew Horton Distributors. I've also been informed they are out of them. So I bought it too.

My girlfriend had a Taurus model 85 that she was never terribly thrilled with, so she sold it a few months back. Turns out, the same day I picked up my 340PD and M66, she runs into a KILLER deal on a 642 Airweight. So, she buys it. Now we've got a little S&W revolver family going, and couldnt be happier with them. Well, a few more might make us happy!

And for the record, yeah, we shot the 340PD with full load .357's in them. No, it wasnt a whole lot of fun. My girlfriend's exact words, after shooting a cylinder, were; "that hurt like hell." It's everything I thought it would be!!!
