I couldn't hold out anymore, and went by my fav shop yesterday to pick up a lonely little 4566. I had to have it. ;-)) From the looks of it it appears it may have been someone's duty gun.
Anyways, it's got some little scuff marks here and there, and the factory grips look like they've been skull-dragged. So...I'm looking for any insight from anyone that have sent any of the autos back to S&W for their re-finishing (the last I knew it was very reasonable  ). Also, any good sources for new factory grips? I've checked Numrich's and all they have listed are grips for models w/o de-cocker.
Any help's appreciated.

I asked for a quote one time for a refinish, and it was well over $100.  I passed on it.  I thought it would be a lot cheaper than that.

I sent a Ruger Super Blackhawk, Old Model, made the same year I was born, back to Ruger for work to be done on it.  Everything was starting to loosen up.

They tightened the whole pistol up for free, and reblued it (beautiful job, too) for $35!
