Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Is the Apex Tactical "beefed up" extractor for the M&P worth it?

Are there issues with the factory extractor or something? I've got a the DCAEK and RAM kit in mine and I love it - but is it worth it to get the other extractor?

I took the M&P armorer's course a couple of weeks ago the S&W instructor said he had never seen a broken extractor.

Yeah I can't see why you would need to change it out... unless for some reason yours is broken or not working correctly.  The only thing I'd wonder about is weight.

I havent seen a broken one, but a good friend of mine has worn out two of them.  He also has upwards of 50k rounds through his though so all things considered thats pretty good.

We both however have apex extractors in our working guns.  40 dollars to me is worth the additional security.  To others that may not be the case!
