NIB 696-1 (5-shot 44 Special on an L-frame). I had been looking for one, off and on, for the last two years, so when I saw this one at a local dealer I snapped it up. Probably paid a little much, but NIB guns are hard to find (only made for 3 years).
Also, it has a very patriotic serial number xxx1776 (the xxx are letters).  |

Nice. It's interesting you mention patriotic. Smith & Wesson's have that americana feel to them. I have yet to see any other pistol (revolver in particular) that has caught that feel. Everyone in their right mind knows about S&W, and what one looks like.

DavidC: Way too cool. I've got one of them babies also. It was bought it in 2000 for $450 not including sales tax & transfer fees. HKS Speedi-loaders for the Charter Arms Bulldug will fit your S&W L-framed 44spls perfectly. I also have a hammerless Centennial S&W 296 with a titanium cylinder and aluminum frame.

I picked up a 325 PD a week or so after the 696, so I've got Scanium/Titanium model in hand, too. |

Is the 325PD based on the L-frame or N-frame? The MSRP for the 325PD is $907.00! |

Personally, I haven't bought a Smith for about 10 years but those two pictured tempt me!

That is a good price for you 325. My 342PD costed me around that price, and it's just aluminum and titantium, you've a scandium, which S&W charges more for. |
