Are aftermarket mags for a 92FS any good?? Any to avoid??

I've been very happy with my Pro Mag 15rders for my 92fs. I have yet to have a stoppage, jam, what ever. I've hear that USA brand are...not good.

I have an Eagle 17rd that a friend gave me. I now see why he refused any payment for it. In fact, he should of paid me to take it off his hands. I agree that MecGars are the best, I have a pair of 15rd mags that are just as reliable as the factory ones.

I have quite a few USA 15 round magazines, and every one works flawlessly. Never had a problem with any of them.

I've got a couple of USA 15rd mags and have yet to have any problems with them.

Thanks, I found a place that is sell promags for 5 for $75. Sounds like a way to go.

I have one pro mag that I got to save all my new Italian 15 rounders. I found it to be softer metal, but works. Had to bend the front a little to get it to go in and out as smoothly as the factory originals. It has elongated holes on both lower sides of the magazine for whatever reason.

MecGars are usually fine. I believe they make the "factory" mags.

Also try the So. African military contract mags at www.cdnninvestments.com

Some of these have lips that are spread a little too far apart. If you put in a few rounds and can pull a round straight up by the nose of the bullet, bend the lips in just a hair with a needle nose pliers. Never had any problems after doing that.

By the way, these mags, particularly those with the slightly wide lips, work great in a Beretta 96, and hold 12 rounds of .40S&W.

No shit? Anyone else know this? There is no way I am going to pay as much as they want for 1 more round in the .40 mags.

Another option is to take a look at the auction websites or the EE, every once in awhile you can find a decent deal on used factory mags.

Eagle-I could not get mine to eject-too bad it looked like a fairly solid magazine.
USA-so far so good, although you guys are not filling me with confidence on this one
Ramline-works fine, rattles very loudly
Asian Military-Just bought on recommendations I saw here, these look like the best of the bunch I have been able to find so far, I have not been able to hunt down Mecgar and Promags yet
$ 10 CDNN mystery mags-junk, won't insert smoothly won't eject smoothly won't feed reliably.

I wish I had just decided in the beginning to buy used factory mags. I wouldn't have as many; but I would have more that work.

I just bought 3 Promags from cdnninvestments and they work OK in my 92FS. They were the best price, too, at $13.95 ea. I have USA 15 rounders and some no-name SST 20 and 30 rounders (just for curiosity sake) and work, too. Maybe my Beretta is just a mag whore....takes anything that comes along and loves it.
