Quoted: I looked, and the ejector looks fine, no exposed metal that looks deformed or broken. The action slides quite easily, until the slide contacts the hammer, then there is a sginifican't increase in force required to get it all the way to the rear. That's were a lot of resistance is felt when cycling the slide.
If you give the slide a healthy pull, it will eject a cartridge just as any other pistol I've encountered.

You need to pull the slide,
Push up on the Hammer Spring Cap, then push the cross pin out (Hammer Spring Cap, hammer spring will drop out).
Then pull the hammer pin out of the pistol to remove the hammer and Hammer Spring Guide.
Now load the hammer and then the Hammer Spring Guide correctly into the bottom of the hammer slot (when you re-install the the Hammer Spring Guide , and keep the pistol rail side down as you load the spring, Hammer Spring Cap back on.
Right now, it sounds like the Hammer Spring Guide is installed wrong, and/or, not installed into the hammer bottom pivot rail and it is binding in the spring channel.
Note: Hammer Spring Guide ball end goes towards the hammer (into the hammer slot detent), and the top bended section will go back towards the back of the frame (you load it from the hammer side. The spring will get loaded threw the bottom on the Hammer Spring Guide, and will pressured against the ball end retaining lips on the Hammer Spring Guide by the Hammer Spring Cap.
