Thanks. Not quite to 1K yet but figured I would find out beforehand. I will order a couple next time I order some parts.

The last time I checked Brownells, they had Factory chrome-plated Italian-made "INOX" recoil-springs for slightly less than the normal Factory recoil-spring.  The Beretta USA Factory part# is:  C90292.  Good luck.

Beretta recommends replacing every 3,000-5,000 rounds.

The US Army requires replacement when the length of the spring reaches 5" or less.  (use the barrel, which is 5", as an easy guide).

Gun springs tend to be overlooked by many, and they are probably the one thing you as an owner can do to keep any gun running well, and for a very long time.  It's a relatively cheap thing to do and will pay off in the long run.

I'd stick with Beretta's recommendation, the lower round count (3,000) if you're shooting hotter ammo, or using it for defense.  I wouldn't worry about using the higher number (5,000) if you're shooting weak sauce. I think the envelope is probably conservative, but as said several times, springs are cheap.  No reason not to stick to the factory recommendation.

I certainly wouldn't cross the Army's line of 5" or less.

I think I will use this. I'm way past 3K.  I don't use my M9 for defense though in fact I don't shot it much these days but did in the past. I didn't think the rd count was so low for replacement.

3-5000 rounds is pretty much standard replacement rate for all full size pistols. You can go longer but you're just needlessly beating up your gun. The smaller you go size-wise the shorter that spring life becomes especially when talking about major caliber (9mm and above) pocket pistols. Khar pistols, as an example, should be swapped every 500-1000 slide cycles or less.
