I'm awaiting transfer on my soon to be P228. Can't wait to get it! It's a West German made model so early 90's vintage in 95% condition with a factory hi-cap. Got it for under $500 out the door. I've shot P220 & P226's in the past. Any feedback from P228 owners?

If it's a Sig, it's GOOD TO GO.
I love mine.  Congrats.

Got Sig? Yup, mines a '94, came with 4 factory 13 rounders and night sights, box, target, etc.
$525 OTD in nearly mint condition.
The original grips were still in the box as Hogues were installed.
Very light SA let off.
I won't even bother looking for 228 mags anymore, opting for 226 mags...the 15 rounders.
Mine was deemed a "keeper" so I oiled it up and put it away.
I have to leave it in my will as it is not going anywhere!

Such a deal you got!
How far out do the 226 mags extend, anothergene?

I don't have my 228 handy but remember the 226 mags were easier to seat and did not hang down enough to worry about...maybe the thickness of the basepad.
Besides the 2 extra rounds, I think the 226 mags are more plentiful...meaning a relatively less expensive alternative.

Thanks, anothergene.
I'll have to look around more, the price seems to be about the same, at least over on the Sig forum.

I'm into mine $570 with one preban and 2 PC mags.

My favorite Sig is the P226, but the P228 is also a winner.  Watch-Six

I use a P226 9mm mag as my reload mag. Be sure to not CRAM that mag home. It will break something up there. I don't remember what but it's not a good thing.

I have the 225, 228, 220st and the226st.  I love them all.  It's always a delemia when I go to the range as to qwhich one(s) to shoot.  But my first sig was the 228 and it convinced me to keep buying them.  You'll love it.
