I got this pistol used from a dealer and it looked like new but was used and sold as a used pistol. My question is does the slide look normal or is it cracked and routed? Should this concerne me? Thanks.

I had a compact witness .45 that looked identical to what you show on yours, I took it into my local gunsmith and was told is was normal.

Thanks for all the replies. I am glad it is a normal thing because I really like the pistol and it has a lot of potential. When I shoot it more I think I will get better with it but so far I just have not shot it that great. Also I just tested to see if it was a crack or a scratch and it showed it was a scratch I turned my dremel way down and used a rubber abrasive tip to polish it up and the line went away completely. So it looks like I was just a but paranoid. I was more worried about its value than it coming apart or blowing up.

If you are talking about what looks like a chunk of metal missing, my P220ST does not look like that.
But it's only cosmetic and should not make any difference to how your gun operates. EDIT: OOOPs! mine DOES have that! I feel dumb now! Never noticed it before. |

Mine has the same mill. One thing mine does not have though is all the tooling marks inside of the slide...mine is smooth
