Wow, thats the nicest .40 I've ever shot.  Damn.  Now I can't decide if I like .40 or .357 better.  I wasn't quite as accurate with the .40 but it was still minute of face at 30ft.  The .357 was making ragged holes that range.  This P229 is (GASP) better than my P228.  Yeah, I said it.

BTW, I'm selling off the lasergrips, the ergos of the stock grips are perfect.

yeah, I shot my new P229 in .40 last weekend....man, what a dream. So well balanced and accurate and, for some reason, I almost think the felt recoil is less than some of my 9mms. Very mild, in any case. Man, I frickin love Sigs

The 229-40 is definitely my favorite general purpose gun..
I use the 229S in 357 just for occasional fun though.

I was wondering how the lasergrips felt as compared to sock or Hogue's. What part does Not fit?

I was wondering if I was the only one that felt that way.  I have a S&W 669/9mm and I swear my p229/.40's recoil is lighter.

The lasergrips themselves are a great product, very easy to use and very well made.  They are slightly thinner than Houge fingergroove grips.  But they do fatten the gun up a bit, and to me its so perfect the way it is that I had to switch back.  I kinda miss them, but I had such a good range session the other day without the laser that I don't mind too much.  This is a damn accurate gun.

Thanks for the info drew.
I like the 229 with the non finger grove Hogues. I would guess they would be about the same thickness as the finger grove type..
I am trying to decide between the grip type or a rail mount laser.
