The early GSRs had a bunch of their own problems, but as far as I know, Sig made the guns good, and I have heard almost nothing in the last year about the newest guns having issues. Still, I just might start a search for a NIB Kimber 25th Anniversary model. They are still out there and affordable, plus they are the original, Series I (same as the original 1911) design. I would also look hard at the Warrior since it, like the GSR, has a rail (assuming you want a rail). I have never even held a GSR, so I am no authority on them, but I have had several Kimbers and am currently very happy with my...so far, after over 500rd. of both FMJ and JHP factory ammo...100% reliable external extractor model TLE, my Warrior and my Series I SS ProCarry.

Between the two I'd go with the GSR. However I'll take the warrior over the GSR in a hearbeat.
