Its metal.  If the surface is properly prepared it will take just fine.  Do you want to do the slide or the whole thing?

I have Gun Kote sprayed on all my Sigs, because the factory blueing is the worst in the industry.  Never had a problem with adhesion.

I just finished my SIG and had no problem with adhesion.  I'm the worst do it your self'er and had no problems.

I alumahyde IIed my slide semi gloss black.  I know gunkote is the way to go, but I hate that oven smell

It is my first attempt and I'll post pic tomorrow for ya.
