Was watching MACS channel and saw his torture test on the p320. I think the gun did pretty well, but he was having issues with light primer strikes. Is this a common issue with this weapon?

Mine has never missed a lick. About 700 or so rounds many different types and manufacturers.
|
|
I've had my 320 now for just about two years and have had zero light primer strikes
|
|
about 900 through mine now, no FTF, FTE or light primer strikes...
|
|
Just walked out back and shot 200rds.
Zero failures, zero hiccups |
|
Okay thanks guys.
I wish I could run out back and shoot 200 rounds on my property lol |
|
Just went over 2000 rounds this week. Zero issues of any kind so far.
|
|
Over 3,000 rounds through 3 different 320's with everything from wolf to speer and no issues.

We are right at 200 P320 transitions this year. That's 120,000 rounds so far. Haven't seen a light primer strike yet. David

My 3 P320 Compact 9mm's had several thousand rds of mixed ammo through them. Only had a few light strikes w/GECO (my other SIG's had varying amounts of light strikes w/GECO), everything else was gtg.
However, I have had major FTE's w/all my P320's when using Blazer Brass. Tomac |

No problems with mine.
I wouldn't take a lot of stock in his videos about anything. |

I have three (3) P320's in 9mm. Two (2) needed to go back for "light strikes". They ones repaired now worked perfectly. I have over 10K on one of them.

Mine has been great for about 800-900 rounds.
I saw the test by MAC and the only thing I thought of was how he cleaned it. He poured oil in the sticker channel and that is supposed to be dry. I think the oil may have caused the light strikes. I could be wrong but it made sense to me and every other review I've seen shows the p320 running perfect. |

10k ish rounds through mine and so far it has only had one FTE with some winchester whitebox while very very dirty.

I had one with super low round count and one with like 2K. I never had any issues, but I do hear a lot of reports from those who get up into 5-6K that have had FTE issues (Tomacs may have been ammo related, but I've never heard of Blazer Brass causing problems in a gun).
I wonder if we might need an APEX kit, but only time will tell. |

View Quote After some research, it appears the P320 Compact 9mm (and only the P320 Compact 9mm) has a known problem w/all weights of Blazer Brass. Changing the extractor & extractor spring (recommended fix) seems to have solved the problem. Tomac |

I have a P320 compact that was made in October 2015. I had trouble with Blazer Brass 124gr and Winchester white box 115gr. But it's 100% reliable with Perfecta, American Eagle, and Speer Lawman. Is there a newer extractor and rod that can be ordered from Sig? I'd rather not send the gun if I don't have to.

I wouldn't bother with the extractor and spring. Sig made the extractor spring pin a mm longer and that made the extractor tension better. I think you should order parts from Sig if you want the newest version. David

I called Sig support today about the extraction issue. I told them it's only a problem with Winchester white box and Blazer Brass. He checked the serial # and confirmed there's an improved extractor spring pin available. They're sending it out at no cost.

I took a new P320 to the range Saturday. Had 9 FTEx in 150 rds. all 3 mags. 2 17 and 1 15rd. W German 226 and 239 in .40 with a 9mm barrel ate the same ammo as always with no issues. Many more than the P320. I have a P320 45 that has been perfect. There is definitely an issue with the P320 9s. |

Lots of issues with lots of pictures. No where in my post did i say "all" 9mm 320s. Just because yours works doesnt mean there isnt an issue. There is with mine snd lots of others. |

Have there been a few reported issues? Sure. But Sig has been taking care of it. It's not a big deal and it's a fantastic gun. |

I have 6 sigs and bought the first 23 years ago. I like them but, sorry, this is a problem. It's great that they will be fixing the issue with my gun like all the other ones with the same issue when i have time to pay to send it to them. Just because there is an issue with extraction does not mean it is an issue in all guns, all lots etc. There obviously is an issue and it is not just my one gun. It is quite a few from what I can tell. A firearm is a safety device and if it doesn't work it really is a serious problem. The P250s and earlier P320s don't appear to have this problem and neither does my 45 so I would assume it is a QC issue rather than a design issue. You can google "Sig P320 failure to extract" all by yourself. Lots and lots of people having the same issues. |
