I've got a 1988 SIG P226 that I've thought would be nice to modernize with a mounted light, and I was curious if anybody here is using the SureFire MR14A/B to mount an X300 on their non-railed P226.

In the pics I've seen of the MR14 it looks like it puts the light farther forward than it would be on a railed frame. Does this require breaking the normal grip to use the light?

Any opinions/experiences with this light would be welcome.

I know, I know buy a MK25, but I already have a beater P226 so I'don't care how it looks.

Bump for October. Still looking for opinions on the MR14.

Not worth it in my opinion. It does mount the light further forward and makes it awkward when using it. I had to break grip to activate the light. If it's something that you think you can adjust too the hats off to you. I personally could never adapt to it comfortably and just stuck with a handheld light.

Dang, I was afraid of that. I'll be saving my pennies for a MK25 then.
