I have the opportunity to purchase a used .357 SIG barrel for my 229.  However, I am unsure of the manufacturer of the barrel.  It appears to be stainless and the only markings on the barrel are on the right side “357 SIG”.  The barrel seems to shoot very well.

Is there anyone out there that could give me some tips on ID'ing this barrel.

Thanks for any help.

It sounds like the SiG barrel. The question is, "Is it the one for the 229?" Right now you can buy the factory barrel for about $150.00.
