I need to mount a tac light on the front rail on my P229 40 Cal, to carry on duty

My Safariland STX Tactical holster has the mold/cutout, which will accept a wide variety of lights:

ITI M3, TLR-1, M3X, Surefire X-200, X-300

Which is good and which is bad?

The M3 I had broke into a million pieces when I dropped the pistol onto hardwood from about a foot high (knocked it off the coffee table).  The M3X may be better, I don't know, but the vanilla M3 isn't very rugged.  The M3 and M6 also both eat batteries like the cookie monster eats cookies, and not the cheap batteries either.

The X300 is a little expensive but worth it in the long run.
For My money that is what I would get.

I have an SF  X300, which I love to death.   But it is also at least $50 over the others.    Is it worth it??  I am not sure.   Before I got the SF, I was really looking hard at the M3X, and not so much at the TLR-1.   Why I spent the $$$ for the SF..  Holster options...  I was planning to put the P229R on a war belt, and I wanted a holster which can have the light mounted.

I think all of them are really good, and since you are carrying it on duty.  You might want to look at the holster options with your workplace.
