I was in a gun store last week and asked the clerk if he had any mags for a P225. He told me I must be mistaken and that I meant 226. He wouldn't believe that I had a 225. I had to show it to him and even then he thought it might be a fake of some kind.

Does anyoneelse carry one?

If things go right, I'll be joining you in P225 ownership soon. I've had my eye on a NIB P225 for quite some time now. I'm saving money and hopefully will be able to pay cash for it soon. I already have a P220 and a P229 (.40 S&W). I'm sure you're not the only P225 owner out there. Most people want high capacity capability with any 9mm.

I bought the 225 because of it's small size and ease of concealment. I've put several k rounds through it and it has never jammed.

I would love a P225. They never should've killed it.

Nice pistol. (But I'm a fan of medium and small framed single stack 9mm's.)

I have one and it is an excellent pistol. Handle, feel, balance are all excellent and shoots like a son of a gun. I agree with Joe that the sigforum will give you a whole different perspective on how many 225 out there there are. The only drawback for some folks will be the 8 round mag's.

My dad has a couple of them. They are one of my favorite sigs. Although I opted for the P228 and P239, I'd like to buy one someday.

The 225 is superior to the 239 in every aspect. It feels so much better in the hand than the 239. I don't know why there are so many 239's in gun stores and very few 225's. The same applies to the 228 vs. the 229. (except that the grips are the same on these)

I believe about over a year ago SIG discontinued the P225.

I had a 239 didn't like it much . I want a 225 madly . I currently have a 226 , Sig Pro 230 , 232 and finally a 228 on the way

The 228 and 229 are just about the same gun except for the solid slide of the 229. My 229 is a .40 and I just don't shoot it much though.
All of my sigs will use the same holster which makes it nice.

Classic Pistol in PA has both 225s and 228s in stock from time to time. The guy behind the counter said that they're not discontinued, but that they're being marketed to LEO, therefore there are not that many available. This was about a year and a half ago. I saw two 225s there for sale NIB about 9 months ago.

I bought one NIB this past May for $425 with night sights and I love it. Very accurate and feels great in the hand. I called Sig to ask why it isn't on thier web site and they told me that it's mostly for the German police and very few are imported. As of last week, Cdnninvestments has mags for it in stock.

Not true. On the 228, the extractor is completely hidden inside the slide, on the 229 the extractor is external. The 228 has a removeable breech block while the 229 doesn't. The 228 has full length slide serrations and the 229 has half length serrations. The same goes for the older 226's vs. the newer 226's. Also, the sheet metal slides are a bit lighter.

I regret selling my 228. I want it back!

Bought mine in 1994. Like the grip and thickness, but the trigger guard could be a little shorter. When I was a patrol officer, I carried my P-225 as a backup. I found a holster that mounted to my vest and I wore a shirt one size larger so it wouldn't print. The department issued us Beretta 92F's at the time but I felt all warm and fuzzy with my Sig on me.

They are still making the 225. I just bought a new one. The march "Gun of the Month" from Sig is a 225 with Novak sights, three mags, and a really nice Sig range bag. RSR still had three left last time I checked. Whole bunch of normal ones in stock. Just have your local FFL give them a buz. Will set you back around $600.

Its not there anymore....I bought it on sight. Went there to pick up an HK that Mike, the owner was going to sell me from his rental counter...and as always, I walk in and check out what is new in the cases.. Saw the sig p225 at $399 in pristine condition, and the conversation about the HK ceased.

This pistol is a beaut.

You're not alone.

I've got one that had seen better days; the top of the slide was nearly in the white and the rest of it had some fine rust on it. I think I picked it up for about $380. I reblued the slide and it looks brand new now.

I enjoy shooting it quite a bit, it's accurate and comfortable. I do need to dehorn the end of the trigger since it's a bit sharp.

Hi all, my first post here...

I own two SIG p225's and love them. Nearly 10,000 rounds through them so far and not one jam or other problem. When I get more cash I may branch out and try some other SIGs, but the 225 is great for conceal carry and seems much more comfortable than the 239 (not to mention it looks cooler!)

Speaking of 225 copies, I recently bought an ASTRA a-100 for about $200. It's basically a 225 copy, and though the size is almost exactly the same it holds 17 rounds instead of 8! So far it seems to be about as acurate as the SIG up to 20 yards; the only prob so far after 1000 rounds is that it failed to eject once when I was rapid firing.

Actually the A-100 is more of a P226 copy. The Astra A-75 single stack is more P225-ish.

I never had a problem with my A-100 but the trigger on it needed some help pretty badly.
