Gaston Glock
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Biography

Murder attempt
In July 1999 in an apparent attempt to cover his embezzlement of millions from the Glock company, Glock's associate Charles Ewert hired 67 year old French-born ex-mercenary Jacques Pêcheur to murder Glock in a garage in Luxembourg. Glock was able to fend off the attack and survived with seven head wounds and some cuts and abrasions and as a result of these injuries, he lost about a litre of blood. Jacques Pêcheur was shot twice by Glock and was sentenced to 17 years in prison for the attack. As a result of Pêcheur's testimony, Charles Ewert was sentenced to 20 years.[1]

I wonder what kind of gun Gaston used to defend himself... must've been a 9mm since the guy lived.

He slingshotted the slide of his 1911, and the attacker cowered in fear.

This has been a well known incident for years, it was outlined in the Forbes article about the man.

I'd put my money on it being a Browning GP-35 Mk. III Hi-Power.

For the money that he embezzled, you'd think that Charles could afford to have hired a better quality of mercenary.

More irrational hatred of Wikipedia.  Do you not understand how encyclopedias work?

Wikipedia cites an article from Forbes.  If you're claiming the story BS you need to aim your claim at Forbes.z

I wonder if he got a refund?

Also, did Mr. Glock have a carry permit? I know those are rare in europe.

Funny, the Forbes article doesn't mention a thing about Glock shooting the other man twice, though it does say he punched him twice and effectively KO'd him.

Wiki is a complete farse IMO.  Sure there is some decent info, but there are also some glaring inaccuracies.  I could find no where that GG shot his attacker.  The article referenced makes no mention of it.  What's stopping people from randomly and maliciously corrupting facts on Wiki?  I wouldn't trust it for anything serious.
