In all seriousness how clean does the frame get in there?

Pretty clean, you do however have to check for any of last nights spaghetti.

IMHO, does anyone actually clean with the dishwasher?

I would be worried about lead contamination of the dishes and silverware next time I washed regular dishes.

lead would be my concern as well.

besides you have to secure things pretty well, everyone knows that a GLOCK is dishwasher-safe but are dishwashers GLOCK-safe?

I figured all the residue would be washed down the drain.

I put all the parts in the sink, grab the AR15 toothbrush throw some dawn soap all over the parts, scrub and use 170 degree water to rinse.

Shake
Wipe
Lube
Assemble / Function check
Load and holster.

5 mins TOPS!

+1 Just plain lazy not to clean, IMO.  Mine get cleaned after every firing session, then if it's a carry gun it gets stripped/cleaned of lint and re-lubed if necessary once a month.  A clean/lubed and inspected weapon is the most reliable one, for sure.

Neglecting your weapon is a bad idea.

I am more anal about cleaning my CARRY guns after each range session.  But a GLOCK that is used for the range is fine (IMHO) to clean every other range session or so...

You should be thoroughly ashamed of yourself!

Now for your punishment, you must write the word "didn't" on the blackboard 100 times with the apostrophe in the correct place. THAT'LL TEACH YA!

I have two dirty glocks on my person right now... only about 200 rounds through each. They'll get a scrub in a few days when I get some time. Its hard to clean your work guns when your always at work!

Somewhere in metro Detroit there is a range that has a rental glock with over 10,000 rounds through it and has never been cleaned.
