It's a 1st generation Glock 17. It came with two 17 round Glock mags, cleaning kit, and a manual. According to the serial # it was made in March of '86 and has factory adjustable sights. The barrel looks good and all #'s match. The Glock and 500 rounds of American Eagle ammo came to like $465. I don't think I did to bad.

I think you could have done better.

New 3rd gen are $499 new.

Not being a dick, just would have never made the deal.

Well, I gave $380 for the gun. Plus, no paperwork.

No. You paid $465 for a 11yr old used 1st gen Glock and got 500rds of ammo for free.

It's all in how you look at it and if your happy than I am happy.

Well, I like the gun, a lot. I know I didn't get a GREAT deal seeing as how, as you said, you can get a brand new one for $500. I also think my first post was a little misleading. I gave $380 for the gun and payed the rest at an ammo booth for the ammo, so I did give $380 for it. Sorry about that, should have worded that different. The 500 rounds didn't come with the gun. I've got to quit adding everything up into package deals.

My first Glock was a model 17 which I bought new in 1986.  I have since bought a new Glock 17.  My First Gen Glock has had thousands of rounds put through it over the years, it has always gone bang when I pulled the trigger.  The gun just plain works.

Enjoy!!

Pred, you did fine.

My local fun shop had a 1st G17 about 6 months ago and they had a $500 price tag on it.

It's not there any longer, so I'm not sure if they sold it or not.

Looks like those mags are the non drop free ones.

The mag you have is what's called NFML(Non Full Metal Lined). When it has ammo loaded in it, it will not fall(some won't even when empty) from the Glock as designed. The newer mags are FML(full Metal Lined) and most of the time will fall free from the gun, with or with ammo loaded in it.

Do you have a caliper? I would be interested to know the OD of the barrel?

No I don't, sorry. How come your wondering about the OD of the barrel? Also, will any generation Glock 17 mag work in my G17?

Oh, yea, how about a pic of the left side of the mag?

Nice find, by the way.

Yes, and the 29 round 9mm mag will also fit.

He wants to see if you have a "pencil barrel" G17. Might have some collector's value.  If you got that pistol for $380, with no taxes, or with taxes included, no other fees, etc., then I'd say you did really well.

Oh, almost forgot. My wife and I got to meet R. Lee Ermey today at the NGD in Louisville. He was really cool, talked to us both, and she got a signed picture of him made out to her.

A 1st Gen G17 is always a nice addition to anyone's collection; I think you did good, enjoy it.

Oh, I would suggest you take it to a local certified Glock gunsmith to check for wear on parts and maybe have them replaced; the good thing about Glocks is that they have very few moving parts (hence less likely to break), so they are very reliable.

I'd say ya done pretty good.  Don't see to many Gen1s floating around, at least I haven't as of late.  +1 on maybe having it looked at though by an armor though.  Just a thought.  Enjoy!
