Glock 35 and 24 - AR15.COM

I have not been able to find a G24 to rent at a range in the Seattle area. I am very impressed with the 35's accuracy but wanted to know from other people who have shot both 24 which they prefer and why.. I can get a new 35 for $600 or a new 24 for $620. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Have both,

what will be the primary use of the pistol?

Concealed carry for protection,

tactical matches,

silloute matches?

I don't see my self entering any silloute matches but I have signed up for a tactical shooting course and am interested tacticle shooting in the future. I have both a 23 and 27 so it will definately not be a carry weapon.

USPSA and IDPA have similar limits on the size of a handgun. A Glock 34/35 is the longest. If you shoot IDPA, get a 9mm. If you shoot USPSA, get a .40 cause it makes major, or a 9mm if you want to shoot in the production (unmodified) division, because there is no major power factor scoring in that division.

Personally, I think .40 sucks, particularly in Glocks. I would get a 34.

Is that out the door or before tax? A local dealer here on the dry side has a G35 for $550+tax.

I have both and I just had the G35 barrel ported. When the G24 was USPSA legal I shot it a lot. I shoot it now and then just for the gee wizz factor.

Oooh, thats low! FWIW, all the Glocks in the safe on campus are 9mm....

In this case then, between the 35 & the 24, get the 35.

no bigger than 165 gr. bulletts.

FYI, if you change your mind on the sillouete shooting, the factory 24 barrells will run in the 35, you wont have the longer sight radius, but you will have the barrell.

G35 - just right IMO. The G24 is alright too, they just went a little too far with the length.

Can't go wrong with an OD Glock or a FDE Springfield XD - reminds me of some diapers I've changed.

I have two OD Glocks and have grown to like the looks of them much more than the traditional black on black.

A G24 is legal in USPSA limited. G35 is more versatile for a number of reasons though. A G20 is for me easier to shoot at speed for limited.

Didn't know the 24 was legal in limited. Although I would still give the nod to the 35, cause you can shoot it in IDPA. That doubles the number of matches you can shoot every month.
