I have decided to go with GLOCKs, after trying Beretta, Springfield, HK, Sigs. Just my personal preference (and my pocket book)

Looking for feedback on GLOCKs only, and only in 9/.40/and 45ACP

so far decided on G34 and G26, lets assume I want it "all" , and can afford 2 per year (ok, maybe 3)

which 3 do I start with??

p.s. all I'm doing is putting holes on paper, I am not getting near "harms way". (eg I'm a "civilian" who is exercising his rights to bear arm)

If you're going to start a Glock collection, why not start with the original?

Glock 17.

After that, go for a G19.

9mm(17) and a 10mm(20) are mandatory

I asked the same question awhile back.  Ended up going with a 17, 30, and lastly a 23.  Now I am thinking about getting another 17.  I've got 2 hands...

G19, G30, maybe the G26 if you plan to CCW a BUG or if not, a G21

I got a 19 first but sold it, I had a problem with the gun and did not send it back to glock. A friend got a 26 and it was so nice to shoot I got one for myself. Then I got the G21 so I could have a big gun. I just got a G34 so I could have a full sized 9, which would be cheaper to shoot than my G21. I like a full sized gun at the range.

So my order was 26  21  34, I didn't include the 19 because of my poor experience with it. I realize now that this was some kind of fluke, the 19 is a pretty versitle model. Nothing shoots as well as my new 34 though!

I own a G17 (9mm), G19 (9mm), G20(10mm), G21(45ACP), G26(9MM), G31(357SIG), G32(357SIG), G34(9mm) and G35(40S&W).   If the guns not going to be for self defense I suggest a 9mm or 45ACP.  I'm not a big fan on .40 S&W for just shooting as it's felt recoil is usually greater than even a Glock in .45ACP  I have the G35 which I built into a USPSA Limited gun.  I use very weak loads in this for competition which feel very much like mild 9mm but it will still make the required power factor to make 'major'.  I also don't recommend .357SIG for a newbie to shooting.  With some experience it's an easy caliber to shoot.

I would suggest a G17, G19 and a G21 as your first three Glocks.

Well, I went G22, G21, custom G21 Lonslide, then the 1st ever custom G20L, and finally G23 for carry.  I wouldn't trade a single one for anything and not a 9mm in the bunch.

Pretty darn cool to read these responses!!

Looks like I'm making a list.. and checking it twice!!

so far the most voted 1st GOLCK is a 17.. guess what, that WAS what I bought like 20 years ago, like a dumbass, I sold it to a friend.. today, he still won't sell it back to me!!

for that resentment.. I might start with the next most voted : G19

have you ever asked yourself why he won't sell it back after 20years?

I would go with a 9mm first...

...then all the others!

I know that is why he won't sell it back, it is a damn good gun, I just hated to go shoot with him and see him use "my gun" while I have to go buy another G-17.  I'm dysfunctional, I know...

Since theres so many others to choose from.. I will get something else to start with.

by the way, I tallied the votes and theres' not much talk about the 45 ACP.. I thought I read somewhere GLOCK's 45 ACP is their best line.. maybe not in the real world.

I have had a 19, 34, 30, and a 17.

I currently have a 23 and a 26...

I liked them all very much adn for various reasons, mostly dumb, I traded some off.

I want a 30 again, and either a 17 or 34 again, and I will keep them for good this time.

I REALLY LIKE MY NEW 23!  Much more then I thought I would.  Winchester white box 100 round packs from walmart are 15 bucks.  Good price for practice.

I currently have 2 G17s, a G19, 2 G21s, a G30, a G34, and a G38. (I've never yet parted with a Glock I've personally owned.)

The G19 has been my primary carry-gun for more than a decade.

I shoot them all well except the G30.  (Personal/ergonomic thing, I'm sure - I haven't given up yet...)

The G38 is new but growing on me.

If I could only keep one, it would be the G19.  YMMV.

Best all around to start would be a G19. Second would be a full size G17 for the house and tactical shooting. Next would be my bug, a G26 to carry in the summer easily and as a backup. I would stay in the same caliber with all three. You could transfer this entire collection to .40 if that is your preferance. Just my .02

G19 first; then G17 followed by G21.  Good luck.

For me, it was 17, 19, 20, then 29.  The 19 and 20 are gone, the 17 may be soon, and a 35 is in my near future, then a 23 after that.  The 29 is by far my favorite.  It's like miniature artillery.

I have more Glocks than I care to admit. For somebody on a budget I would recommend a Glock 23 with a 9mm conversion barrel and magazine and a stock 32 (357 SIG) barrel.

Next a G22 with the same.

Do you have a carry permit?  If so, get a 27 first, then a 22 later.  If not, get the 22 first, then the 27.  Pick a caliber first, then pick your pistols.    My choice, all things considered? .40 cal

G17/19 (good way to famaliarize yourself with Glocks, handling, trigger, recoil all with reduced ammo cost)
G20/21 (got to have one of the big boys!)
G29/30/26/27 (always need a smaller version for carry situations, pick the one that suits you.)

so far loving G26 more than G34, but from what I hear about how many of you like your G19, can't wait to put some round down that barrel..

soo damn easy to get good at shooting a GLOCK, just think of all the time/ ammo I wasted on a 92 FS, P229 DAK, HK USP (they are all nice guns, but I just can't shoot with them!)

Depends on the size of your hands(IMHO)....if you have average sized hands, I'd start with the G19!

I went in this order, why I don't know?

G17.....  sold
G19
G23C
G27
G32C
G33.....   sold.....with regret
G17C..... sold
G30......  sold
G19.....   sold
G19OD

next.........G35

I shot a Glock Model 26 yesterday for the first time.  I took a fellow out to re-qualify him for his CHL (I am an Arkansas State Police CHL instructor) and he brought a Model 26 and offered to let me shoot it when we were done with business.  I have owned several other Glocks (Model 19, Model 17, Model 21, Model 34) and they were all great pistols....BUT......

That little 26 was one of the most accurate "pocket" pistols that I have ever shot.  I had never shot a baby Glock before and this gun was amazing.  The recoil wasn't bad and it kept all the shots within about 2" at 10 yards.  It I needed a good little carry gun I'd get one in a flash!

I prefer the glock 22 or glock 35. 40s&w is more powerful than the 45 cal and is even with the 10 mm. the 40 cal bullet is smaller than the 10mm so you can have more rounds in your mag. 9mm can hardly finish up the job. people say dont go to war with anything smaller than a 45 cal, they are wrong.

Grab a new 17L while you still can.  Also G24 and G24C.  These have all been permanently discontinued and only a few thousand total were made.  Don't foget the G17T (blue simunition gun), and G17P (red practice gun).  They are only sold to LE, but sometimes the LE sell them.  Very rare.  Getting the compensated guns will nearly double your collection.  Then try to find mint condition Gen 1's, 2's and 2.5's.  Probably about 200 different glocks.  Oh, I almost forgot about the OD and desert frame colors.  Shit 500 Glocks.  Then there's special edition guns with engraving done on them....
