How is this a bad thing?  Mainstream advertising by a handgun company  will make Chuckie Schumer et al shit their collective pants!

Even it it's true don't expect to see a black car with a huge Glock logo on it. They probably sponsored some no-name driver in the truck series or something.

When is Chuck Schumer gonna see a NASCAR race?  Dale Earnhardt had a Remington sponsorship and if you looked real hard, you could maybe even see their logo on his car.
This was the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT we all speculated about. .22 lr pistol/.233or9mm carbine/1911Glock? No, Bubba pandering.

I can understand the disappointment, but look at it this way; maybe the advertising will generate the money to come out with the products you want.  I have no doubts that what you all have been speculating about here has been noticed by Glock, they would be foolish not to look.

Advertising works no matter how small it is.  Brand recognition is where it's at.  If it sells more Glocks, Glock wins and has the capitol to make new products.  If it brings more people to the sport we all win.  And Chuckie won't have to watch a single race for it to bother him, and we win again.  Call me an optomist, but I still think it is a good thing.

I doubt sponsoring a NASCAR driver is going to suddenly generate an assload of handgun sales. Hell, most of the people that watch nascar probably own a Glock or a glock competitor anyway.

Are they gonna sell laps to the civis, or are they LEO/Mil only?

NO SERIOUSLY

This goes along great with the article I wrote a few months ago about the whole speculation deal, The Glock Rep (an adorable little girl whose name and phone number I neglected to retrieve, alas) said "No, there's no new product this year, and I have no idea where everybody got the idea that we were going to release something big."

That is a direct quote taken from my notes. Should I scan the dang note page while I'm at it?

Awesome.  The only Glock products she can buy are the e-tool and the field knife.

LOL.. wait a minute.

I guess they count the NASCAR Power Wheels Cup Series.

ETA: I noticed they they were still pushing the .45 GAP pistols as their new thing.  It's like, yeah, we know about .45 GAP, we just don't care.
